2)  Click [MR WaveCheck (Manual)] on the window and display the MR waveform screen.
3)  Check waveform changes by operating the focus linkage ring.

 Fig.
5-8-15
4)  Confirm that the waveform is larger than the inner circle, and then click [OK].
Note:
The waveform is not necessarily displayed at the center of the window.

There is no problem when the waveform is larger than the inner circle even if the waveform is not positioned at the center of the window.
5)  If the waveform does not greatly come out of the inner circle, increase the MR spacer thickness and repeat steps 2) to 4) until the wave-
form is larger than the inner circle. When a normal waveform is obtained, use the total thickness of MR spacers as the minimum value
A
.
Note:
Gradually increase the MR spacer thickness beginning with 0.07 mm, then 0.10 mm, 0.12 mm
.
6)  Add an MR spacer thickness of 0.40 mm to the minimum value
A
 obtained in step 5).
7)  Re-check that the waveform appears correctly.

If the waveform does not greatly come out of the inner circle, decrease the MR spacer thickness and repeat measurement until the
waveform is larger than the inner circle. When a normal waveform is obtained, use the total thickness of MR spacers as the maximum
value
B
.
Note:
Gradually decrease the MR spacer thickness beginning with 0.40 mm, then 0.37 mm, 0.35 mm
.
8)  Calculate the thickness of MR spacers by the following calculation formula based on the minimum value
A
obtained in step 5) and the
maximum value
B
obtained in step 7), and determine the MR spacer thickness.

MR spacer thickness (calculated value
C
) = (minimum value
A
 + maximum value
B
) / 2
Note:
Combine MR spacers to be used so that the error of the calculated value
C
 falls within the following tolerance.

Tolerance: Total thickness of MR spacers to be used - MR spacer thickness (calculated value
C
) = -0.00 to +0.04 mm
Example)  When minimum value
A
 = 0.17 mm, maximum value
B
 = 0.44 mm

MR spacer thickness (calculated value
C
) = (0.17 mm + 0.44 mm) / 2 = 0.305 mm

MR spacer to be used: 0.20 mm x 1, 0.07 mm x 1, 0.05 mm x 1 (0.32 mm in total)
9
When the total MR spacer thickness calculated in step 8) is 0.15 mm (or less) or 0.40 mm (or more), replace the MR sensor and perform
this adjustment procedure from step 1).
10) After the adjustment, apply Adhesive Bond (B-10) to the head of the two MR sensor screws.
