1-4. ORNAMENTAL RING OR BARRIER ASSY REPLACING METHOD
Removal
1
Turn on the power and pull out the lens to set it in the WIDE end state.

Remove the battery.

Apply alcohol to two gaps A of the Ornamental Ring A with tweezers or a fine-tipped stick as shown in the figure below.
Note: Use of alcohol may cause malfunction of the Barrier Assy. When the Ornamental Ring A is removed, replace the Barrier Assy with a new one.

Insert tweezers or a pin-spanner in the hollows B and C of Barrier Assy, unlock the hooks at four locations by turning it counterclockwise and
remove the Barrier Assy.

Installation

Install the Barrier Assy, aligning the lever with the insertion position as shown in figure.

Insert tweezers or a pin-spanner in the hollows B and C of Barrier Assy and rotate it clockwise as far as four hooks are locked.

Install the battery.

Turn on the power, make the lens retract in the body and confirm that the lens is completely closed. Confirm that the lens is completely open at
the WIDE/TELE end.

Affix 2 sheets of Barrier tape, aligning them with the position shown in figure below.
Note: When affixing, be careful for Barrier tape not to cover the holes A and B, and the guides.
