SAFETY  CHECK-OUT
After correcting the original service problem, perform the following
safety checks before releasing the set to the customer.
1.  Check the area of your repair for unsoldered or poorly-soldered
connections. Check the entire board surface for solder splashes and
bridges.
2.  Check the interboard wiring to ensure that no wires are “pinched”
or contact high-wattage resistors.
3.  Look for unauthorized replacement parts, particularly transistors,
that were installed during a previous repair. Point them out to the
customer and recommend their replacement.
4.  Look for parts which, through functioning, show obvious signs of
deterioration. Point them out to the customer and recommend their
replacement.
5.  Check the B+ voltage to see it is at the values specified.
6.  Flexible Circuit Board Repairing

•   Keep the temperature of the soldering iron around 350°C during
repairing.

•   Do not touch the soldering iron on the same conductor of the circuit
board (within 3 times).

•   Be careful not to apply force on the conductor when soldering or
unsoldering.
Caution
Danger of explosion occurs if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.
UNLEADED  SOLDER
This unit uses unleaded solder.
Boards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead free
mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead.
(Caution:  Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with the
lead free mark due to their particular size.)
: LEAD FREE MARK
Be careful to the following points to solder or unsolder.
•  Set the soldering iron tip temperature to 350°C approximately.

If cannot control temperature, solder/unsolder at high temperature
for a short time.

Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if the
heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful!

Unleaded solder is more viscous (sticky, less prone to
flow) than ordinary solder so use caution not to let solder
bridges occur such as on IC pins, etc.
•  Be sure to control soldering iron tips used for unleaded solder and
those for leaded solder so they are managed separately. Mixing un-
leaded solder and leaded solder will cause detachment phenomenon.

METHOD FOR COPYING OR ERASING THE DATA IN INTERNAL MEMORY
The data can be copied/erased by the operations on the Setup screen. (When erasing the data, execute formatting the internal memory.)
Note1:  When replacing the Main Board Assy, erase the data in internal memory of main board before replacement.
Note2:  When replacing the Main Board Assy, execute formatting and initialize the internal memory after replacement.

REGARDING FUSE
• MAIN BOARD

DEDICATED A/V CABLE (OPTIONAL ACCESSORY)
Dedicated A/V cable is not supplied with this model.
For details of the dedicated A/V cable, refer to the “ACCESSORIES” page.
Method for Formatting the Internal Memory
Format
Formats the memory card or the internal memory. When you use a memory card with this camera for the
first time, it is recommended to format the card using the camera for stable performance of the memory
card before shooting. Note that formatting permanently erases all data on the memory card, and is
unrecoverable. Save precious data on a computer, etc.
1.  MENU

 (Settings)

 (Memory Card Tool) or
 (Internal Memory Tool)
 [Format]

Note
Note that formatting permanently erases all data including even protected images.
Copy
Copies all images in the internal memory to a memory card.
1.  Insert a memory card with sufficient free capacity into the camera.
2.  MENU

 (Settings)

 (Memory Card Tool)
 [Copy]
 [OK]

Notes
Make sure there is sufficient battery power. Otherwise, the battery power may run out when you
attempt to copy image files, causing the copy to fail and possibly corrupt the data.
Images cannot be copied individually.
The original images in the internal memory are retained even after copying. To delete the contents
of the internal memory, remove the memory card after copying, then format the internal memory
([Format] in [Internal Memory Tool]).
A new folder is created on the memory card and all the data will be copied to it. You cannot choose
a specific folder and copy images to it.

1-4. PRECAUTION ON REPLACING THE LENS BLOCK ASSY
The slant of the CCD Block Assy is adjusted with the Lens L Washers, the Lens O Washers and the CCD Rubber 0.5mm in the Lens Block Assy.
After the Lens Block Assy is replaced, select and install Lens L Washers Lens O Washers CCD Rubber 0.5mm according to the following.
Screws

Lens Block Assy
Lens O Washers
Lens L Washers
CCD Rubber 0.5mm

Washer height values A, B, and C are described on the QR Code Label attached to the Lens Block Assy. (A, B, and C show installation positions of
O Washers.)
Combinations of these values are grouped into two types:
a type that uses CCD Rubber 0.5mm and a type that does not use CCD Rubber 0.5mm. Install washers according to the washer installation method
for each type.
