The remaining play time of the battery indicates the time until the battery dead mark starts blinking.
When this mark starts blinking, the unit will no longer be able to perform operations such as shooting, etc.
(Reference) Auto power off
When no operations are performed at all while using the rechargeable battery, the power will go OFF after the shooting
mode is set for approximately 2 minutes and the playback mode for approximately 4 minutes.
The power will not go OFF while the AC adapter is used.
(ii) Backup power supply
Power supply which backs up clock data. When the backup power supply is turned OFF, the clock will be reset. Even when
the backup power supply is turned OFF, the shot image data will be preserved.
• Super capacitor (C072)
A super capacitors incorporated in the unit as a backup power supply for short periods of time such as during battery
replacement, etc. When connected to other power supplies, this capacitor will always be charged, and is thus able to backup
the clock function for approximately 10 minutes when all power supplies have been removed.
• Lithium ion rechargeable battery
No special power supply to backup the clock function for a long period of time is provided in particular. Therefore, always
connect the lithium ion rechargeable battery (LIP-10) to the unit.
(Important) Storing the DSC-F1 for a long period of time
When storing the DSC-F1 for a long period of time, leave the lithium ion rechargeable battery attached.
In the fully charged state, the rechargeable battery will preserve the clock data for approximately 7 months. Even when the
battery empty mark is displayed, by leaving the rechargeable battery inside the unit, the data will be preserved for
approximately 2 months.
(Reference) Lithium ion rechargeable battery terminal voltage
In normal usage, the lithium ion rechargeable battery can only be used to 2.5V.
If the current is slightly over ten µA for clock use, a slightly lower voltage can be used.
To store the DSC-F1 for a long period of time, the terminal voltage of the lithium ion rechargeable battery is lowered to
around 1.6V.
Chargeable batteries with lowered voltage can be used by recharging it again. Because trickle charging is performed at first,
the charge time will be long.
During Shooting
Approx. 20 minutes
During Playback
Approx. 45 minutes
