2) Where can I install the GPS antenna question
In order to guarantee the best possible connection with the GPS satellites, the GPS
antenna should be installed facing outer space. The roof offers the best solution. In
practice, also internal mounting on the dashboard can work satisfactory too. When it is
built in somewhere covered, take care that the GPS antenna is not shielded by any metal
part. Note that it is not possible to mount the antenna behind a “metal vaporised
windscreen”.

Supplied accessory is a GPS antenna with 2 m cable.
4) Which mounting angle is permitted with MEX-100?

5) Is it possible for the GPS-reception to use normal Radio antenna instead of the
supplied antenna?
No, for the GPS reception you need a special antenna.
6) Can I use another GPS-antenna?
Combination antenna’s (GPS, GSM, Radio) are available on the market. Please consider
the adaptor plugs.

7) Which sets can additionally be connected?

8) Is navigation possible immediately after installation?
After installation, the set needs to be calibrated. To do this, place the car on an open
space in such a way that satellite reception is possible. Turn on the set and insert the
CD-ROM. Wait until the display shows: “Calibration ride can start” (this can take 10-30
minutes). Start to drive a random route over digitalized streets (streets that can be found
on the digital map) until the “Address-entry-mode” appears on the display (driving
distance 2-10 km).
