Location of controls and basic operations
Main unit
Card remote commander

This section contains instructions on the location 
of controls and basic operations. For details, see
the respective pages.
For iPod operation, see “iPod” on page 10, or for
optional device (CD changer, etc.) operation, see
“Using optional equipment” on page 13.
The corresponding buttons on the card remote
commander control the same functions as those
on the unit.
OFF button
To power off; stop the source.

stations (press and hold).
*1 In the case of a CD changer, HD Radio tuner or
SAT tuner being connected; when  4063$&  is
pressed, the connected device (“HD,” “XM” or “SR”)
will appear in the display, depending on which
device is connected. Furthermore, if 
.0%&  is
pressed, you can switch the changer, HD Radio
tuner band or SAT tuner band.

Note
If the unit is turned off and the display disappears, it
cannot be operated with the card remote commander
unless 
4063$&  on the unit is pressed, or a disc is
inserted to activate the unit first.

Notes
(-A)
• Be sure to connect the ground (earth) lead before connecting 
the amplifier.
• The alarm will only sound if the built-in amplifier is used.
Tips
(-B)
• When connecting only a single CD changer or other optional 
device, connect directly to this unit.
• For connecting two or more CD changers or other optional 
devices, the source selector XA-C40 (not supplied) is 
necessary.

appareils en option.
Remarques sur le syntoniseur radio satellite (
-C)
• Cet appareil n’est pas compatible avec le syntoniseur 
radio XM XMDSON100.
• Vous ne pouvez pas raccorder plusieurs syntoniseur 
radio satellite (XM/SIRIUS) au XA-C40 en même 
temps.
• Lorsque vous utilisez un syntoniseur radio satellite, 
veillez à le raccorder à la borne INPUT 1 du XA-C40.
Notes on satellite radio tuner (
-C)
• This unit does not support the XM radio tuner 
XMDSON100.
• You cannot connect two or more satellite radio tuners 
(XM/SIRIUS) to the XA-C40 at the same time. 
• When you use a satellite radio tuner, be sure to connect 
to the INPUT 1 terminal of the XA-C40.

radio por satélite (XM/SIRIUS) al modelo XA-C40 
simultáneamente.
• Cuando utilice un sintonizador de radio por satélite, 
asegúrese de conectarlo al terminal INPUT 1 del XA-
C40.
