1. Getting Started
(1) Hook up a Super Audio CD player
(i) Digital audio that cannot be played back ... User’s Manual

If the devices are not properly certified in the i.LINK connection, the digital audio of Super Audio
CD cannot output digital signals.
Therefore, only when the TA-DA9000ES establishes a digital connection with the Super Audio
CD player (SCD-XA9000ES) equipped with an i.LINK terminal, can the audio of Super Audio CD
be output in the digital connection.
(ii) Upconverting video signals ... User’s Manual

Only the following conversion is available. Backward conversion is not available.
• Composite video → S-video / component
• S-video → component
When upconverting signals, the hue, sharpness, and color density can be adjusted. These
adjustments are set in the CUSTOMIZE menu (User’s Manual
P.37
).
(2) Connecting the speakers

When connecting even one speaker with nominal impedance of 4–8 Ω, set the impedance to 4 Ω.
If the correct impedance is not set, the unit may exhibit a PROTECTOR display.

The TA-DA9000ES can connect 7.1-channel speakers for A, and 5.1-channel speakers for B.
If the surround speakers are set to A+B, the audio is output from the 2 channels of the front
speakers, “4 channels of SL, SR, SBL, and SBR for A”, “2 channels of SL, and SR for B” and “1.1
channels of a common C, and SW”, which total 9.1 channels.
SL for A and SL for B, plus SR for A and SR for B, are connected in a parallel configuration
respectively.
