SECTION  4
ELECTRICAL  ADJUSTMENTS
VIDEO  CALIBRATION  ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment to decide the standard of the video input signal.
Note: After replacing D-VIDEO board, or after “SUPER RESET” of the 
special menu mode is executed, perform this adjustment.
1. Adjustment jig
The color pattern generator that can output 100% in NTSC/PAL/
HD color bar signal to the component and the composite at the 
same time is necessary for the adjustment.
When there is no color pattern generator, it is possible to substitute 
it by the Blu-ray Disc player that can output the component termi-
nal and the video terminal at the same time (Substitution model 
name example: BDP-S350).
However, please do the following signal output confi rmation with 
the oscilloscope beforehand when substituting it with the Blu-ray 
Disc player.

2-2.  Procedure when color pattern generator is used
1.  It connects of step 2-1, and press the [
?/1
] button to turn the 
power on.
2.  “VIDEO 3” is selected by pressing the [INPUT SELECTOR] 
button.
HD  SIGNAL  ADJUSTMENT
3.  Input HD color bars signal (720p or 1080i) from the color pat-
tern generator to VIDEO 3.
4.  Enter the test menu (Refer to page 12).
5. Press the [V]/[v] buttons of remote commander to select “V. 
CAL _ _ _”.
6.  Press the [
3
] button of remote commander.
 
When correctly entering the test mode “V.CAL EXE?” is dis-
played.
7.  The HD signal adjustment is begun when press the [
3
] button 
of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “HD-V: - - _ _” to “HD-V: O K C _”, 
and it enters the state that display changes in following the 
order (End of the HD signal adjustment).
 
“V.CAL EXE ?” 
→ “V. CAL _ _ H” → “V.CAL EXE ?” → 
“HD-V: O K C _”
NTSC  SIGNAL  ADJUSTMENT
8.  Input NTSC color bars signal from the color pattern generator 
to VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 3.
9.  Press the [
3
] button of remote commander.
10. The NTSC signal adjustment is begun when press the [
3
] but-
ton of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “NTSC: - - _ _” to “NTSC: O K C V”, 
and it enters the state that display changes in following the 
order (End of the NTSC signal adjustment).
 
“V.CAL EXE ?” 
→ “V. CAL N _ H” → “V.CAL EXE ?” → 
“NTSC: O K C V”
PAL  SIGNAL  ADJUSTMENT
11.  Input PAL color bars signal from the color pattern generator to 
VIDEO 1.
12. Press the [

] button of remote commander.
13. The PAL signal adjustment is begun when press the [
3
] button 
of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “PAL: - - _ _” to “PAL: O K _ V”, and 
it enters the state that display changes in following the order 
(End of the PAL signal adjustment).
 
“V.CAL EXE ?” 
→ “V. CAL N P H” → “V.CAL EXE ?” → 
“PAL: O K _ V”
14  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2-3.  Procedure when Blu-ray Disc player is used
1.  It connects of step 2-1, and turn on the main power of set and 
Blu-ray Disc player.
2.  “BD” is selected by pressing the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.
HD  SIGNAL  ADJUSTMENT
3.  Insert BD test disc “HLX-104” (Part No. J-6090-199-A) to 
Blu-ray Disc player. The disc playback automatically becomes 
start “Main Menu” is display.
4. “59.94Hz, 1080i” 
→ “1. Video Signal” → “1. Color Bar 
100%” is reproduced, and 100% in the color bar is displayed 
in the TV monitor, playing the Blu-ray Disc player is pause 
playback.
5.  Enter the test menu (Refer to page 12).
6.  Press the [V]/[v] buttons of remote commander to select “V. 
CAL _ _ _”.
7.  Press the [

] button of remote commander.
 
When correctly entering the test mode “V.CAL EXE?” is dis-
played.
8.  The HD signal adjustment is begun when press the [

] button 
of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “HD-V: - - _ _” to “HD-V: O K C _”, 
and it enters the state that display changes in following the 
order (End of the HD signal adjustment).
 
“V.CAL EXE ?” 
→ “V. CAL _ _ H” → “V.CAL EXE ?” → 
“HD-V: O K C _”
NTSC  SIGNAL  ADJUSTMENT
9.  Insert DVD test disc “HLX-504” (Part No. J-6090-088-A) or 
“HLX-513” (Part No. J-2501-305-A) to Blu-ray Disc player. 
The disc playback automatically becomes start “Main Menu” 
is display.
10. “1. Video Signal” 
→ “1. Color Bar 100%” is reproduced, and 
100% in the color bar is displayed in the TV monitor, playing 
the Blu-ray Disc player is pause playback.
11.  Press the [

] button of remote commander.
12. The NTSC signal adjustment is begun when press the [
3
] but-
ton of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “NTSC: - - _ _” to “NTSC: O K C V”, 
and it enters the state that display changes in following the 
order (End of the NTSC signal adjustment).

13. Insert DVD test disc “HLX-506” (Part No. J-6090-077-A) or 
“HLX-507” (Part No. J-6090-078-A) to Blu-ray Disc player. 
The disc playback automatically becomes start “Main Menu” 
is display.
14. “1. Video Signal” 
→ “1. Color Bar 100%” is reproduced, and 
100% in the color bar is displayed in the TV monitor, playing 
the Blu-ray Disc player is pause playback.
15. Press the [
3
] button of remote commander.
16. The PAL signal adjustment is begun when press the [
3
] button 
of remote commander.
 
Display changes from “PAL: - - _ _” to “PAL: O K _ V”, and 
it enters the state that display changes in following the order 
(End of the PAL signal adjustment).
 
“V.CAL EXE ?” 
→ “V. CAL N P H” → “V.CAL EXE ?” → 
“PAL: O K _ V”
17  Press the [
