ABOUT  THE  SETTING  METHOD  OF  WIRELESS  LAN
When setting the wireless LAN by operation check, set the wire-
less LAN by one of the following methods
Note 1: The CD-ROM attached to US model differ by the Type C and the 
Type C2.
 
    (Refer to “ABOUT THE TYPE OF US MODEL” on page 3 for 
Type C/Type C2)
Method 1: Setting the Wireless LAN by Wired Network
This method can set the wireless LAN without using attached CD-
ROM.
Note 2: 
PC must be connected to the wireless LAN router/access 
point in advance.
 
    Write down important information such as the SSID and 
security method, etc. of wireless LAN router/access point
.
Procedure:
1.  Check whether PC and wireless LAN router/access point are 
turned on.
2.  Connect the SA-NS310 and the wireless LAN router/access 
point using a LAN cable.

3.  Turn the SA-NS310 on.
4. Click 
“My Network” or “Network” t “SA-NS310”.
 The 
“Sony Network Device Setting” screen appears.
 Note 
3: Install the UPnP service in advance if using Windows XP.
 
     
Check the set-up of the fi rewall of the security software if 
you cannot fi nd “SA-NS310” or the browser does not open 
even if you double-click “SA-NS310” on screen of PC.
 
     
Restart the PC if you cannot fi nd “SA-NS310”.
5.  Select the desired language when the “Language Setup” screen 
appears.
6.  Select “Network Settings” from the menu.
7.  Enter the SSID of access point, then select the security method.
 Note 
4: Enter Security key (WEP/WPA key, etc.) if you selected any-
thing other than “No Security” as a security method.
8. Click 
“Apply”
.
9. Click “OK” when the confi rmation screen of the pop-up win-
dow appears.
10. Disconnect the SA-NS310 and the wireless LAN router/access 
point following the on-screen instructions.
 
SA-NS310 restarts automatically, then the [LINK] LED lights 
up in green when the wireless LAN connection is made.
Method 2: Setting the Wireless LAN by CD-ROM (“Net-
work Speaker Wi-Fi Utility”)
This method can set the wireless LAN with the CD-ROM which is 
attached to the US model of the Type C2.
Setting of the wireless LAN by CD-ROM (“Network Speaker Wi-
Fi Utility”) is possible other than the US model of the Type C2.
Note 5: 
Before operation, write down the SSID (Wireless Network 
Name) and Security Key (WEP or WPA key) of wireless 
network.
Procedure:
1.  Connect the AC adaptor to SA-NS310.
 
Check that the [
?/1
] LED changes from fl ashing in green to lit 
in green.
2.  Load the CD-ROM (“Network Speaker Wi-Fi Utility”) into the 
CD-ROM drive of PC.
3.  Follow the instructions that appear on the display.
4.  The [LINK] LED lights up in green when the wireless LAN 
connection is made.
Method 3: Setting the Wireless LAN by CD-ROM (“NS 
Setup”)
This method can set the wireless LAN with the CD-ROM which is 
attached to the US model of the Type C and other models.

 (“NS Setup”)
 cannot be used by US model of Type C2.
(It can be used, after updating SA-NS310)
Note 6: It is necessary for the CD-ROM (“NS Setup”) to use a PC of with 
built-in wireless LAN.
 
    Have the wireless network name (SSID) and security key (if ap-
plicable) available for reference.
Procedure:
1.  Connect the AC adaptor to SA-NS310.
 
Check that the [
?/1
] LED changes from fl ashing in green to lit 
in green.
2.  Load the CD-ROM (“NS Setup”) into the CD-ROM drive of 
PC.
 
If the program does not start automatically, double-click on 
“NS_Setup.exe” on the CD-ROM.
3.  Perform setup, following step 1 to 4 of the on-screen instruc-
tions.
 
When setup is completed, press the “Play test sound” button to 
confi rm operation of the speaker by playing the test sound.
 
(The [LINK] LED lights up in green when the wireless LAN 
connection is made)

Distinguish by model number label stuck on the bottom side of a 
main unit.
