ABOUT  CONNECTION  WITH  THE  WIRELESS  STEREO  
HEADPHONE  AFTER  NWZ-A866BT  REPAIR
When NWZ-A866BT settings are initialized, or when the boards 
and attached wireless stereo headphone (MDR-NWBT10) are ex-
changed, it is necessary to make the Bluetooth connection. Make 
the Bluetooth connection according to the following procedure.
Note 1: When the wireless stereo headphone (MDR-NWBT10) is ex-
changed, BD address in the wireless stereo headphone (MDR-
NWBT10) is changed.
 
Therefore, BD address registered into “WALKMAN” becomes 
invalid.
 
In order to search the device, press the key of wireless stereo 
headphone (MDR-NWBT10) for about 7 seconds, and search 
“WALKMAN”.
Prior confi rmation:
1. Confi rm that “WALKMAN” is NWZ-A866BT.
2.  Delete the device of the wireless stereo headphone (MDR-
NWBT10) registered into “WALKMAN” at the time of factory 
shipments.
Deletion method:
1.  Press any key of “WALKMAN” to turn the power on.
2.  From the home menu, select “ ” 
 “Manage Added Devices”.
3.  Select “Option Menu” to bring up the option menu.
4.  Select “Delete Device” 
 “MDR-NWBT10”  “Yes”.
Connection method:
Note 2: In this sentence, the wireless stereo headphone (MDR-NWBT10) 
is written as Bluetooth headphones.
1.  Place your “WALKMAN” and the supplied Bluetooth head-
phones within 1 metre of each other.
2.  Press and hold the [
u
] button of the Bluetooth Headphones 
for approximately 2 seconds until the indicator starts to blink.

3.  Press any button to turn your “WALKMAN” on. If “HOLD” 
appears on the top of the screen, slide the [HOLD] switch.
4.  A “WALKMAN” screen message informs you that connection 
is automatically established. It may take some time to connect 
with the supplied Bluetooth Headphones. Wait for a while.
Note 3: If connection fails, press and hold the [HOME] key to turn off 
your “WALKMAN” (“WALKMAN” screen displays “POWER 
OFF”). Turn on your “WALKMAN” again, and re-establish Blue-
tooth connection with the headphones.
