1-2. Data Bus Interfaces 

Fig.1-2 shows Data Bus Interfaces of the unit. In the unit, System Controller IC101 controls all the data bus interfaces. 
 
Data Bus -1 
 

System Controller IC101 constructs the bus interface with NOR FLASH MEMORY & SRAM IC201, using a 16-bit width data line and 21-bit width address line. 

 

System Controller IC101 constructs the bus interface with OEL Module, using a 8-bit width data line. 

 
Data Bus -2 
 

System Controller IC101 constructs the bus interface with NAND FLASH MEMORY IC1301, using a 8-bit width data line. 

 
The functions of ICs are as follows. 
 

NOR FLASH MEMORY IC201 has 32[M-bit] NOR FLASH MEMORY and 4[M-bit] SRAM internally. 

  Main program (Firmware) for the unit is stored in built-in NOR FLASH MEMORY. 
  Built-in SRAM is used for the Working Buffer of the music data. 

 
 

NAND FLASH MEMORY is used for the following applications. 

  Music data such as ATRAC, MP3 and WMA transferred from PC is stored. (Music data is encrypted.) 
  PC data is stored via the application software like Windows Explorer. 
  System settings such as Volume and Play Mode set by customers are stored. 

 
 

System Controller IC101 is used for the following applications. 

  Control a whole system. 
  Decoding of the encrypted music data 
  Data communication with PC 
  Data Read/Write Control of NAND FLASH MEMORY IC1301 
  Control serial interfaces 
  Control charging (ON / OFF)
