SERVICING  NOTES
ABOUT  THE  BOARDS  REPLACING
When the boards installed in this unit are defective, exchange the 
complete mounted board.
However the headphone jack (J301) on the MAIN board is ex-
changeable. Refer to “4. EXPLODED VIEWS” (page 17).
ABOUT  THE  HANDLING  OF  THE  BATTERY  ASSY 
(BAT1)
When the battery assy (BAT1) is removed, insulate the end of wire 
by a tape etc. to prevent short-circuited of the wire part of battery 
assy (BAT1).

Wrap by the tape etc. and 
insulate the end of wire.
ABOUT  THE  DESTINATION  SETTING  WHEN  REPLAC-
ING  THE  MAIN  BOARD
When the MAIN board of this unit is replaced, perform processing 
according to the following procedure.
Precaution
The contents which are not opened to customers are included 
in the following procedure. After you are cautious of handling of 
information, execute work under the suffi cient administration.
1.  About the preparing of tools
Download the tools used by this work from the homepage of TISS. 
When the tools cannot be confi rmed by TISS, confi rm to the ser-
vice headquarters.
2. Setting method
Note: The destination setting is impossible when battery voltage is not 
enough.
 
  Fully charge the battery in advance.
Procedure:
1.  Connect this unit to the PC by using the USB cable.

Notes
 One of the above operating systems should be by default pre-installed. Any operating 
system other than those indicated above (Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Linux, etc.), 
upgraded operating systems or multi-boot environment are not supported.
 64 bit versions of Windows XP are not supported.
 For the latest version information and compatibility with your operating system, please 
access the support home page for the IC recorder. 
Hardware environment:
 Sound board: Sound boards compatible with any of the supported operating 
systems
 Port: USB port
 Disk drive
A CD-ROM drive is required. To create a music CD, you need a CD-R/RW 
drive.
Notes
The following systems are not supported:
 Operating systems other than the ones indicated on “Operating systems”
 Personally constructed computers or operating systems
 Upgraded operating systems
 Multi-boot environment
 Multi-monitor environment
The following shows the system requirements for using Sound Organizer.

Windows Vista: At least 512 MB (In the case of Windows Vista Ultimate/
Business/Home Premium, at least 1 GB is recommended.)
Windows 7: At least 1 GB (32 bit version)/At least 2 GB (64 bit version)
 Free hard disk space
At least 400 MB is required.
Depending on the version of Windows, more than 400 MB may be used.
Also, free space for handling music data is required.
 Display settings
Screen resolution: 800 × 600 pixels or higher (1,024 × 768 pixels is 
recommended.)
Screen color: High Color (16 bit) or higher
 Sound card
A SoundBlaster compatible card is recommended.
 USB port
A compatible USB port is required to use devices and media.
Operation via a USB hub is not guaranteed except for models for which 
operation has been specifically guaranteed.
 Disk drive
A CD-ROM drive is required. To create a music CD, you need a CD-R/RW 
drive.
