1. After confirming the tray is closed as in 3-1, it checks if the optical block stays at 
innermost position by the LIMIT switch output of MTK IC(IC1101 53pin). If it isn’t 
at innermost position, the DRIVER(IC1501) is controlled by sending FMO signal 
of  the MTK IC(IC1101 37pin). Signal output from the DRIVER(IC1501 10-11pin)’ 
s SL+/SL- terminal enables the Sled Motor to rotate so that the Optical Block
s SL /SL terminal enables the Sled Motor to rotate so that the Optical  Block 
moves to innermost position.
2. The DRIVER(IC1501) is controlled by DMO signal of MTK IC(IC1101 36pin) to 
give the Spindle Motor kick spin a few times at the DRIVER(IC1501 12-13pin)’ s 
SP+/SP- terminal.
3. Meanwhile, by controlling the DRIVER(IC1501) using the MTK IC(IC1101 41pin)’ 
s FOO output, focusing of the Optical Block is executed at the DRIVER(IC1501 6-

7pin)’ s FCS+/FCS- terminal.
4. Each Laser Diode of CD/DVD starts lighting alternately by the LDO2/LDO1 output 
of MTK IC(IC1101 21-22pin).
5. After detecting the reflection from the disc, signal form the Optical Block is output 
to the MTK IC(IC1101 10pin)’ s DVDRFIP terminal. Based on this result the disc 
type is recognized.
6. After detecting the reflection from the disc, signal from the Optical Block is 
detected at each terminals of MTK IC(IC1101 6-9, 11-14, 17-18pin), then outputs 
Focus/Tracking Control Signal, and this enables Focusing/Tracking Servo of the 
Optical Block by the DRIVER output.
7. If the playing position is not traceable by the tracking servo, control the DRIVER 
using MTK IC(IC1101 37pin)’ s FMO signal and then rotate the Sled Motor by the 
DRIVER output for the sled operation
