About playback of discs recorded in AVCHD format
This system can play AVCHD format discs.
What is the AVCHD format?
The AVCHD format is a high-definition digital video camera format used to record SD (standard definition) or HD (high definition) signals
of either the 1080i specification* or the 720p specification** on DVDs, using efficient data compression coding technology. The MPEG-4
AVC/H.264 format is adopted to compress video data, and the Dolby Digital or Linear PCM system is used to compress audio data. The
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format is capable of compressing images at higher efficiency than that of the conventional image compressing format.
The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format enables a high definition (HD) video signal shot on a digital video camera recorder to be recorded on DVD
discs, in the same way as it would be for a standard definition (SD) television signal.

Note on DualDiscs
A DualDisc is a two sided disc product which mates DVD recorded material on one side with digital audio material on the other side.
However, since the audio material side does not conform to the Compact Disc (CD) standard, playback on this product is not guaranteed.
