SYMPTOM Dead or tripping set.
CAUSE
Various components.
ACTION
If there is no output from the power supply then it is likely that there is either a heavy
short on the HT supply (line output transformer or transistor short circuit) or that one of
the secondary rectifier diodes is faulty. D709 causes this fault.
If the set is tripping, check the voltage on the supply pins of IC700 (14 and 15). If this
is below 10V it is likely that its running supply is missing. Check C743, D706 and the
associated circuit. If the voltage on pins 14/15 or IC700 is zero then R710 (100K, 2W)
is probably open circuit.
Note that it is advisable that if the chopped transistor (Q705) has failed short-circuit,
that the control IC (IC700) is also replaced at the same time.
