SYMPTOM In Febuary this year, Sharp recalled the above models for inspection of the CRT
aquadag earthing.
This is a reminder that all recievers should be inspected when they come into the
workshop for repair.

ACTION
Inspect all models that come into the workshop as and modify as necessary.
Details of the modification are given below.
Check the type of CRT Ground wire fitted, as indicated below.
Type 1A or 1B
1A – The twisted point where the three wires are
joined, comes apart. CSA type number and
SUMITOMO are printed on the insulation for the
back wire which connects to the CRT socket

1B – Basically the same as 1A, but no type number
Type 2
There is a white plastic tie wrap around the three
twisted wires.
