This microprocessor is part of the Micronas VCT38xxA family of Video/Controller/Teletext IC’s. 
 
In addition to the microprocessor section, it contains the video, deflection and teletext processors. 
External to this device there is an EPROM in the form of a MTP (IC1002). This device contains the 
operating programme. A Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) IC1003 contains all user and engineer settings,. 
 
Note 

When replacing the EPROM the NVM should be blank (all locations set to FF) otherwise the 
NVM will not pickup the data from the new EPROM 

 
The micro will also communicate with the Multi-Sound Processor (MSP), IF amplifier and the tuner via 
the I

C bus. The tuner is not a intelligent device therefore, there is no hand shake routine between the 

tuner and the micro.
