Replacement of the DMD or formatter unit
The DMD may be broken by static electricity. Always wear an earth band before beginning the work.
The contact of the interposer is minute, so pay sufficient attention when handling.
Attachment of DMD
Check of DMD bin voltage
Check the last alphabet of the lowest line of the
rear side of the DMD to attach. (Example: 02026E
→ bin voltage "E")
Setting of the formatter unit DMD bin voltage
Set S9101 and S9102 to the position of the PWB silk
with the same alphabet as the DMD bin voltage.
Insert the DMD into the interposer
Spray the interposer and the DMD with air.
While widening the claws of the interposer, insert the DMD as if it is dropped in.
Note: If the DMD is pressed in, the interposer is ground and shaving generated by grinding may cause the contact
failure. Do not insert it forcibly.
Joint of DMD and the unit
Wipe to clean the contamination of the PWB contacting part (gold plating part) with ethanol.
Set the position of the interposer with the DMD attached to the unit PWB, and then cover the clamp.
Sandwich the unit PWB with the backer plate from the reverse side of the unit PWB and tighten with screws.
At this point, firstly tighten the screws temporarily, and retighten them diagonally.
The tightening torque is 1.13 N-m (11.5 kgfcm)
Mount the radiator fin and secure it with a clip.
