Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd., Technical Services Group
It has been brought to our attention that the MX-TM10 service manual has
ambiguous statements regarding the life of the cutter within the MX-TM10
unit.
Whilst we wait for an updated service manual to be produced, please find
below the revised life expectancy and media recommendations supplied by
the factory.
Cutter/Blade life:
50,000 cuts of 5 sheets @ 81.4gm (80gm UK) plain A4 paper folded = 10 page
A5 booklet.
One booklet = one cut
Please be aware that if any media other than 81.4gm (80gm UK) plain paper or
more than 5 x A4 sheets folded are used the life of the blade will be reduced
accordingly.
Example: 20 sheets folded of 81.4gm (80gm UK) will reduce the life to one
quarter of the 50,000 stated above. If the paper is glossy/coated in any way
the life will reduce further.
Life of whole MX-TM10 unit:
1,200,000 x 81.4gm (80gm UK) A4 sheets pass through… This figure is not to
be confused with the cutter life.
