MX-M1100  WASTE TONER SECTION  M – 2
2. Operational descriptions
A. Toner collection operation
Waste toner generated in the OPC drum cleaner and the transfer
cleaner is transported to the waste toner collection section by the
waste toner transport screw and collected in the waste toner bottle.
When the quantity of waste toner in the waste toner bottle reaches
2,500 g, the waste toner full sensor (TNF) detects it to indicate that
the waste toner bottle full is near.
After 10K prints from the previous timing, the waste toner full is
detected to urge replacement of the waste toner bottle. Unless it is
replaced, printing cannot be performed further.
When the unit satisfied conditions of the waste toner full space
while printing, the printing job is terminated.
B. Waste toner jam detection operation
A locking of the waste toner transport screw is detected at two
points: One is the waste toner transport section from the OPC drum
section and the other is the merging point in the waste toner trans-
port section from the OPC drum section and the transfer section.
When a toner jam occurs in the toner transport section, the toner
transport screw torque is increased to function the toner jam detec-
tion actuator cam, turning on the toner jam sensor (TLS/TLS2).
At that time, L4-08 error is displayed and printing is disabled.
• Waste toner transport jam sensor from the OPC drum: TLS
• Waste toner transport jam sensor from the transfer section: TLS2
Waste toner bottle sensor (TNBOX) detects installation of the
waste toner bottle.
If the waste toner bottle is not installed, the message to urge instal-
lation of the waste toner bottle is displayed and printing is disabled.
