Appearance of a white stripe

2. Symptom
In a high-humidity environment, if humid paper is used for solid black printing, potential may
not be generated by the contact of the paper with the fusing front PG. As a result of this, a
white stripe may appear about 80mm from the leading edge of the paper.
3. Description
To prevent non-generation of potential by the contact of the paper with fusing front PG, a high
resistor earth SP, high resistor electrode plate, and resistor UN have been added to the front
side of the fusing lower frame.
As a result of addition of the high resistor earth SP to the front side of the fusing lower frame,
the PG earth SP mounted on the rear side has been disused.

Mounting procedure of the high resistor electrode plate, resistor UN, and high resistor earth SP
(1) Mount the high resistor electrode plate to the fusing lower frame.
(2) Mount the resistor UN on the high resistor electrode plate.
(3) Fix the high resistor earth SP and resistor UN with a screw.
Note 1: When mounting the fusing front SP, the "L" side of the high resistor earth SP must be
placed inside the relief hole of the fusing front SP.

Note 2: After assembly, check the conduction between fusing front PG and high resistor earth
SP mounting screw.
