When right door is closed with the LCC connection being con-
nected, the lift motor is turned ON to lift the tray.
When tray upper limit sensor (LUD) is turned ON, the lift motor is
turned OFF to stop at feeding position.
B. Lowering tray after opening right door.
When right door is opened, the lift motor is turned ON to lower the
tray. When paper upper surface sensor (LPUD) is turned OFF, the
lift motor is turned OFF to stop at feeding position. If tray lower limit
sensor (LDD) is turned ON while lowering the tray to feeding posi-
tion, the lift motor is turned OFF to stop the tray.
C. Lowering tray by loading paper.
When paper upper surface sensor (LPUD) is turned ON for certain
period of time while the tray is in the feeding position with right door
open, the lift motor is turned ON to lower the tray.
When the paper upper surface sensor (LPUD) is turned OFF while
the tray is lowering, the lift motor is turned OFF to stop the tray.
When the tray lower limit sensor (LDD) is turned ON while the tray
is lowering, the lift motor will be turned OFF to stop the tray regard-
less of the condition of the paper upper surface sensor (LPUD).
D. Suspension of lifting tray after opening the
right door.
When right door is opened while the tray is being lifted, the lift
motor is turned OFF to stop the operation and the operation

motor is turned OFF to stop the operation and the operation
described in “A. Lifting after closing right door” will start.

LCC.
When LCC connection is disconnected while the tray is being lifted,
the lift motor is turned OFF to stop lifting the tray.
3. Paper Feed Operation
Paper feed operation can be performed if the tray is stationary at a
position where it can feed paper (with the upper limit sensor (LUD)
being ON) and there is paper in the tray.
When paper feed takes place, the paper feed motor (LPFM), the
transport clutch (LTRC), the paper feed clutch (LPFC), and the
paper feed solenoid (LPFS) operate with the following timings:
When the transport clutch (LTRC) turns ON with the paper feed
motor (LPFM) is ON (rotating), the transport roller starts rotating.
When the paper feed clutch (LPFC) turns ON in this state, the
paper feed and paper pick up rollers start rotating.
When the paper feed solenoid (LPFS) turns ON, the paper pick up
roller is pushed down to press paper.

4. Paper empty detection
The tray paper empty detector (LPED) checks whether there is
paper in the tray when the tray is lifted and stopped at a position
where it can feed paper, as well as during paper feed operation.
Paper feed operation is stopped if the sensor detects no paper in
the tray during paper feed operation.
