The paper retainer holds down the paper stack in the delivery tray to prevent the stack from moving when the leading edge of the next paper is deliv-
ered to the delivery tray.

The paper retainer's home position is detected by the Paper hold home position sensor (FNPS8).

The Paddle motor (FNM10) drives the paper retainer to hold down the paper stack.

The paper delivered from the processing tray by the assist guide is then stacked on the stack tray.

The stack tray is moved up and down by the Tray shift motor (FNM6).

Before start of printing, the Tray shift motor (FNM6) is driven to move the stack tray up/down to the position where the Stack tray paper height sensor
(FNPS9) detects the stack tray top surface.

After paper is delivered from the processing tray, the stack tray moves down by the specified amount. Next, the stack tray is moved up until the Stack
tray paper height sensor (FNPS9) detects the stack tray top surface (top surface of the stacked paper).

The lower limit of the stack tray is detected by the Stack tray lower limit sensor (FNPS10).
