MX-FN11  OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION  4 – 9
Second and Subsequent Sheets
The finisher controller PCB drives the swing motor (FSWM) when
the trailing edge of the second sheet has moved past the No.1 feed
roller to lower the swing guide. Then, it reverses the delivery motor
to turn the delivery roller (upper) and the return roller and deliver
paper to the stapling tray. At this time, the delivery roller (lower) is
not turned because the delivery lower roller clutch (FAORC) is off.
Presence of paper in the stapling tray is detected by the stapling
tray paper sensor (FSTPD).
When paper is fed to the stapling tray, the swing motor (FSWM)
runs to raise and lower the swing guide. If the swing guide home
position sensor (FSWHPD) detects the raise of the swing guide,
the swing motor is stopped, and the swing guide is held at the
raised position.
After the stapling tray paper sensor detects the presence of paper,
the alignment motors (FFJM/FRJM) are run to align paper.
Stapling Last Sheet
When the last sheet has been put in order, the finisher controller
PCB turns on the alignment motors (FFJM/FRJM) to move the
alignment plates to the alignment positions (to butt the plates
against the stack). Then, the finisher controller PCB staples at the
predetermined position.
After stapling, the finisher controller PCB runs the swing motor
(FSWM) to lower the swing guide. Then, paper stack is delivered to
the tray by the delivery roller, return the roller, and the trailing edge
assist guide.
