MX-4101N  MAINTENANCE  8 – 10
(Note for servicing the DV roller)
1. Prevention of oily dirt attachment
[Note]
• Be careful not to attach fingerprints or oily dirt on the DV roller
surface.
• When rotating the DV roller manually, hold the drive gear section
to rotate it.
[Countermeasures]
If a fingerprint is attached to the DV roller surface erroneously, per-
form the following countermeasures.
1)
Remove developer from the DV unit, and clean and remove
toner and developer on the DV roller as well.
2)
Remove oily dirt on the DV roller with alcohol.
In that case, if alcohol is used without removing toner and
developer from the DV roller surface, that toner and developer
will be diluted, resulting in error images of diluted toner and
developer on print paper. Therefore, be sure to remove toner
and developer from the DV roller surface in advance to use
alcohol.
3)
When alcohol dries out completely, supply developer.
[Check method]
Check to confirm that the DV roller is free from fingerprints or oily
dirt and that cleaning is completely executed or not by the following
method.
• Make a print of a half tone image on all the surface of A4 (11" x
8.5") paper, and check the printed paper for any abnormality in
the image.
1)
Remove the front cabinet.
2)
Remove the waste toner box.
3)
Check that the lock is released as shown in (A).
Loosen the blue screw, and open the drum positioning unit.
* When the lock is not released, use a screwdriver to turn the
screw (B) counterclockwise so that it is fit as (A).
4)
Open the DV lock lever, and release the fixing screw.
(1position for each color)
Rotate this section manually.
