2. Symptom:
 
If the LSU shutter does not open normally because the solenoid arm spring is heavily loaded, 
a void may occur in the center of the image. 
 
   
The shutter Assembly may also be tight due to burrscausing more load on the solenoid. 
 
3. Description:
 
To improve the opening movement of the LSU shutter, we have reviewed the load of the 
solenoid arm spring and changed 1.0N to 0.49N. 
Please refer to another sheet for the mounting instruction of the solenoid arm spring.

- Correction procedure of LSU shutter operation failure 
 
[ Necessary tools and parts ] 
- Solenoid arm spring (MSPRT3870FCZ1) 
- HANARL grease FL955R (UKOG-0299FCZZ) 
- Dispenser situ brush (UKOG-0298FCZZ) 
- Flash light, or the like 
[ Procedures for replacing solenoid arm SP and applying HANARL grease ] 
- Procedure (1)~(4): Replacement of solenoid arm SP 
- Procedure (5), (6): Application of HANARL grease 
- Procedure (7): Confirmation of shutter operation 
- Procedure (9): Confirmation of inclination of the LSU 
 
Procedure (1) Confirm (Memorize) the position of the scale of the LSU inclination adjustment part. 
 
 
 
Procedure (2) Remove the LSU unit from the main unit. 
* Please refer to the Service Manual for the procedure. 
Procedure (3) Replace the solenoid arm spring. (Remove the spring that is currently attached and replace it with 
the spring that has been distributed.) 
- Points to note when attaching: 
* As the shape of the hook is different, refer to Fig. 4/Fig. 5.

Procedure (4) Return the LSU unit to the main unit. 
*Adjust the LSU inclination adjustment part to the position of the scale which you memorized in 
Procedure (1). 
Procedure (5) Remove the transfer unit, the process unit, and the DV unit from the main unit. 
Procedure (6) [Note] It is not necessary to perform Procedure (6) on the machines manufactured in September 
2008 or later. (The grease is already applied.) However, if the shutter unit has been replaced 
on the machine, please perform this procedure even if it is manufactured in September 2008 
or later. 
Apply HANARL grease to the sliding surfaces of the shutter lever and the lever link arm with the 
dispenser with brush 1 or 2 times (4 positions). 
 
 
 
Procedure (7) Confirm there is no abnormality with the shutter operation by Sim6-1 "LSUSS." 
Procedure (8) Return the transfer unit, the process unit and the DV unit to the main unit. 
Procedure (9) Print the LSU inclination adjustment pattern for confirmation. (Adjust the LSU inclination as 
necessary.) *Please refer to the Service Manual for the procedure.
