Note:
If either MFP Control PWB or PCU PWB are replaced, the original SD Card and
EEPROMs must be transferred to the replacement PWBs. Serial number information on
the MFP EEPROM, SD Card and PCU EEPROM must remain with the MFP or a U2-30
error will occur, resulting in a down machine.
Take great caution to ensure that the EEPROMs are installed on the correct PWB, that
the legs are not broken, and that they are not installed backwards.
Always try to replace the MFP SD Card with a genuine Sharp part.
Data Recovery:
Run Simulation 56-1 and select HDD
 EEPROM. Press EXECUTE, then YES.
Note: If EEPROM
HDD is selected by mistake, the data previously saved to the Hard Drive
will be erased and overwritten. Be careful!
Before the SD Card, EEPROMs, or Hard Drive are replaced; the Settings Data, Document Filing
Data, and Device Cloning Data should be backed up.

Back Up Settings Data
There are two functions in Simulation 56-2
Export Hard Drive Data to USB
Export EEPROM & SD Card Data to USB

Back Up Hard Drive Data to USB:
Insert a USB Drive into the USB port. Run Simulation 56-2, select HDD EXPORT. Press EXECUTE,
then YES. When finished, the display will show COMPLETE. A .bin file will be generated on the
USB drive named in the following format: Model Number_Serial Number_S_Date_Time.bin.
Example: MX-3110N_0507XXXX00_S_20120503_1300.bin
Note:
Do not alter this file in any way, or it will become inoperable. Do not attempt to load
this file into a different MFP, as it will cause a down machine condition.

Back Up EEPROM & SD Card Data to USB:
Insert a USB Drive into the USB port. Run Simulation 56-2, select EEPROM & SD EXPORT. Press
EXECUTE, then YES. When finished, the display will show COMPLETE. A .dat file will be written
to the USB drive named in this format: Model Number_Serial Number_NV_ALL_Date_Time.dat.
Example: MX-3110N_0507XXXX00_S_20120503_1302.dat.
Note: Do not alter this file in any way, or it will become inoperable. Do not attempt to load
this file into a different MFP, as it will cause a down machine condition.

Back Up Device Cloning Data to Computer or to USB:
From a computer, open the MFP Service Webpage (See Chapter 11 of the Service Manual).
Select Device Cloning. Click Select All. Save to your PC or USB Drive.

Back Up Document Filing Data from HDD to USB:
Insert a USB Drive into the USB port. Run Simulation 56-3, select DOC FIL EXPORT. Press
EXECUTE, then YES. When finished, the display will show COMPLETE. A .bin file will be
generated on the USB drive named in the following format: BACKUP_date_time.bin.
Example: BACKUP_20120503_1500.bin
Note: When Data Security Kit is installed, Simulation 56-3 is disabled.

Back Up Fax Image Data:
Insert a USB Drive into the USB port. Run Simulation 66-62, select BACKUP DATA and press
EXECUTE. If there is no data, you will get a NO IMAGE DATA error. This is normal.
Note: If Image data is recovered, it will be in PDF format and cannot be restored to the hard
drive. Simply give the PDF file to the end user.
