Use of Flash Module Tool for Firmware backup and restore
in Sharp Jigen products.
To copy firmware from the Flash Module to the ESS:
1) Turn off power to the printer.
2) Install the Boot2Me jumper on the Flash Module
3) Install the Flash Module into the JF1 connector.
4) Press and hold down the Left arrow, Right arrow, and Cancel keys.
5) Turn on the printer while continuing to hold down the 3 keys.
6) After 5 seconds the LCD displays:

7) Release the 3 keys and press Select.
8) After 20 seconds, the LCD will display:

9) Turn off the printer power and remove the Flash Module.
10) Turn on the printer to operate normally with the new firmware.

Caution:
If power to the printer is turned on without holding the 3 keys down and the Flash
Module is installed with the jumper in place, the printer will erase all on board flash including any
previously loaded firmware and system files. The printer will then come up to a normal operating
mode with all 32 Mbytes of on board flash available as User Flash.
