DEVELOPER UNIT IMPROVEMENT TO CORRECT
CLEARANCE BETWEEN MX ROLLER SHAFT AND SHAFT
BEARING
1.Model Name:
AR161/200/205 series, DM2000 series
2.General:
We have found that there is a possibility that the above listed models produced in May of
1999 and earlier may cause the DV shaft bearing dislocation and/or developer leakage
because the DV shaft bearing was not press-fitted properly in the production process. The
DV shaft bearing was not press-fitted properly because there was a thrust clearance
between MX roller shaft and the shaft bearing. This Technical Report explains the
corrective action for the problem.
3.Corrective
   Action:
Add two (2) polyslider (0.5t) between the DV shaft bearing and the DV gear.
Polyslider: LX-WZ0117FCZZ
Important
* The DV gear must be replaced (as the gear holding pawl will be deformed when
removing).  Make sure that the DV shaft bearing is not dislocated from the installation
position. If dislocated, be sure to push it as far as it will go.
4.Affected lot:
The developer units produced in May of 1999 and earlier require this action.  Such
developer units have the following serial numbers.
(1) Developer units produced in 1998 (having an "8" as the 1
st
 digit in its serial number)
8xxxxxxx
(2) Developer units produced in May of earlier of 1999

(having a "9" or a "B9" as the 1
st
digit and a "5", "4", "3", "2" of "1" as the last digit in its
serial number)
9xxxxxx5, 9xxxxxx4, 9xxxxxx3,
9xxxxxx2, 9xxxxxx1,
B9xxxxx5, B9xxxxx4, B9xxxxx3,
B9xxxxx2, B9xxxxx1
5.Permanent
Action:
The location of the E-ring indentation on the MX roller has been changed at the end of
May of 1999 in order to prevent the MX shaft bearing from being dislocated.
