Problems with Configuring NDS on AR-PE2

Issue:
In some circumstances, it may not be possible to browse and configure NDS
printing when using either the copier LCD panel or Fiery Webtools.

To manually configure the NDS Tree and PServer settings on the AR-PE2
(similar to the AR-P15), install the 1-4MZZL update patch (refer to the
following procedure)

Pre-requisites:
AR-PE2 using System Software v1.1 (or higher).
1-4MZZL.ps Update Patch.
Web Services must be activated on the AR-PE2
(via LCD setup, Command Workstation or Fiery Web Tools).
Note: Do NOT install the 1-4MZZL update patch if the AR-PE2 is using v1.01
system software.

Procedure:
Configuration and Installation consists of three separate tasks:
(1) Installing the 1-4MZZL update patch
(2) Enable PServer via the Copier LCD or Fiery Web Tools
(3) Manually configuring the NDS settings.

This bulletin will show how to manually configure the AR-C270 (AR-PE2) in
the “SYSTEM SUPPORT.ALPHA” context, of the GALAXY NDS tree.

Installing the 1-4MZZL update patch
By using either Fiery Downloader or Command Workstation, download the 1-4MZZL patch to the Print
Queue of the AR-PE2.

Once the Patch has downloaded successfully, reboot the Print Controller.
Note: Please allow at lease 60 seconds prior to rebooting the Print Controller
Print a configuration page to verify the Update Patch has been installed. The patch update 1-4MZZL
should be listed under “Update Information”.
Enabling IPX & PServer
By using either the Copier LCD display or Fiery Webtools, enable PServer mode and then reboot the
Print Controller.

Configuring the NDS settings.
Using the Web Browser, open the NDS PServer Configuration Page at the following
URL:-
< ARPE2 IP Address>//NDSConfiguration.html
The example used/shown = 100.100.100.207//NDSConfiguration.html
Check the NDS Enabled? Checkbox, as shown.
Note: This setting MUST be checked prior to entering any configuration details

When entering the Print Server and Print Queue Search Root information, you must use the “Full
Distinguished Name” format (“Type-Full” context) to enable the AR-PE2 to “log on” to the NetWare
server.
Starting with .CN =<name of the print server object>, walk up the root of the tree, listing all container
objects up to but not including the Root.
Every Organizational unit name must be preceded with .OU (uppercase)
objects up to but not including the Root.
Every Organizational unit name must be preceded with .OU (uppercase)
Every Organization name must be preceded with .O (uppercase)
Every country object must be proceeded with .C (uppercase)
Example Shown: -
The Type Full address of C270_PS.SYSTEM SUPPORT.ALPHA would be:-
CN=C270_PS.OU=SYSTEM SUPPORT.O=ALPHA
The NDS Search Root: .OU =SYSTEM SUPPORT.O=ALPHA
