2. Description:
When printing/copying duplex from the LCC tray of the ARD13 a paper jam occurs,
causing PPD1NTD and POD1S jam codes. Simplex printing/copying from the LCC tray
and either duplex or simplex printing/copying from any other tray causes no problem.
This problem is caused by grease contamination of the 5K clutch (B)
Part number PCLC-0311FCZZ of the multi-drive unit, Parts Guide ref. 13-26 (this clutch
drives the toothed belt to the tandem drive section). The clutch can either be replaced or
disassembled and the clutch metal faces cleaned.
The plastic circlip indicated in fig. 1 below can be removed by hand to disassemble the
clutch. The clutch face indicated in fig. 2 should be cleaned with IPA.

3. Action:
The grease used to lubricate the drive gears which spatters, causing this contamination
has been changed in production from October 2001 production.
