AS/400 Setup using LPD-LPR
Remote printing
Model Name:
ARNC3D  Network Board
Prerequisites:
AS/400 Version 3 Release 1 and above, Ethernet capability on AS/400,
TCP/IP running on AS/400, TCP/IP running on ARNC3D.  This Bulletin will
work for AS/400 systems running V3R1 through current releases of the
OS400.
Procedure:
1. To create the remote output Queue for the copier, type the CRTOUTQ
(Create Output Queue) command on any command line and press the F4
function key. The following display is shown:
Note:  The following displays are from V3R7 and later. Some parameters may
not be available on V3R1, V3R2, or V3R6.  If running V3R7 or above, it is
best to set up the printer as a LAN attached printer utilising the HPPJLDRV.
From the screen above, enter the following information:
2.  For Output Queue, enter any name that will describe your output queue.
In this example: AR405
3.  For Library, enter a preferred Library in the system or select a default
(optional).

For Remote system, enter *INTNETADR

Leave the default settings for the remaining parameters and press the Enter Key to continue.

In the next screen, enter the Remote Printer Queue.  This will be 'PORT1'

Press the page down key to continue.
7.  For Writers to auto start select *NONE.
8.  For Connection Type select *IP.
9.  For Destination Type select *Other.
10.  For all other values for the above screen, accept the defaults and press the Enter key to continue.

11. In the next screen, leave the Host print transform setting at *YES.
12. Press the Enter key to continue the setup.
13.  Enter the Manufacturer type and model as *HPIII.
14.  aEnter the Internet address, this should be the IP address for the AR405.
15.  For Destination option select *NONE.
16.  Enter *YES or *NO for the Print separator page parameter based on the customer's needs.
17.  Press the Page Down key to continue.

18.  At the last screen, enter a Text description for your printer and leave all the other parameters at
their default values and press the Enter key to create the output queue.
19.  Before you start the remote writer (printer), verify that it is reachable by using the PING command
to ping the AR405.
20.  Start the Remote Writer by entering: STRRMTWTR AR405.
