2.General: 
There are cases where the drum has been damaged for units that have had the DV side seal 
replaced in the market place. 
 
The material used in the manufacture of the seals DV side seals has changed and the 
thickness of this new materal has increased, in a running change from March 2009 production. 
Because of these changes, it is critical that the DV seals are positioned correctly. However, if 
the seal is not positioned correctly, the developer can become caught between the side seal 
and the drum, causing the surface of the drum to be damaged and in some cases cause 
white/black lines to appear in image area. 
 
Based on this, the correct method to apply the DV side seal is included on page 2, please 
reference these instructions when replacing the DV side seal.
