The staple cartridge is not correctly installed

                Correct Installation
    Incorrect Installation
The rib is correctly located in the slot
The rib is almost completely out of the slot
As the staple cartridge is not correctly installed, a slight shock, as might occur during installation
of the staple unit into the ARFN7, will cause the staple cartridge to dislodge. Because the stapler itself is not at the
initial position (Condition 1.) the stapler will try to return to the initial position when powered on.
As the staple cartridge is dislodged, when the stapler tries to staple sheets, the staple actuator will hit the metal
spigot (shown at B below) instead of the staples.
This will not only damage the staple cartridge but also exert a large load on the stapler cam resulting in the damage
shown to the resin parts shown at the beginning of this bulletin.

This damage is a result of both Condition 1 and Condition 2 occurring together.
As for Condition 2 alone, as the stapler itself is in the correct initial position, the unit will detect that the staple
cartridge is not correctly installed and halts the staple unit operation, again causing no damage.
The following procedure should be adopted to ensure the two conditions do not occur together :
2.  Power ON.   The stapler will return to the initial position.
3.  Power OFF.  Remove the staple unit from the AR-FN7.
4.  Install the staple cartridge ensuring correct location of the rib as described previously.
5.  Insert the staple unit into the AR-FN7 and power ON.
When performing steps 3 to 5 ensure that the knobs shown at C below are not disturbed.
