2. Symptom 
When performing duplex printing using long paper (A3, double letter, etc.),  
an image may be distorted in a range of about 20 mm from the trailing  
edge of the back side. 
3. General 
As a countermeasure against image distortion on the back side,  
a Mylar sheet attaching to the FU pressure lever F or R will be supplied as a service 
part. 
Attaching the Mylar sheet to the FU pressure lever F or R achieves the proper  
pressure balance of FU pressure levers F and R, which results in elimination of 
distortion. 
Since the distortion direction and amount of an image vary from machine  
to machine, the Mylar sheet attaching location (FU pressure lever F or R)  
and number of sheets to be attached are also different. (Refer to the attached sheet.) 
For the Mylar sheet attaching points, refer to the attached sheet.

If distortion has occurred in the trailing edge of the back side (see figure below), attach 
one or  
more Mylar sheets to the FU pressure lever F or R with reference to the table below. 
 
 Note: 
The above reference table for number of Mylar sheets was made up based  
on the test results in the production plant. 
However, use this table as a guide since the effect varies depending on the  
machine status or the used paper. 
When the effect is small, attach one more Mylar sheet, and check the effect. 
If the effect is too large (the line is distorted in the reverse direction of the  
initial pattern), remove the Mylar sheets on a sheet-by-sheet basis.
