2. Description.
The modem control units have been changed concurrently with the discontinuation of
production of the IC (TR88017S), which has been used in the existing modem control
unit.
With the change, the TE/LIU unit and the fax flash ROM have been modified and the
ROM has been upgraded also. A label shown in the figure below is attached to the
underside of the fax ROM cover on the fax box.
1. When changing any of the three units, the modem control board unit, the TEL/LIU
board unit, or the fax flash ROM from old components to new ones, all three
components must be replaced together.. This rule also applies when changing a new
component to an old one.
2. When changing the components into new boards (3 components together), the
firmware version for the fax must be updated to Vn1.01D.
3. For old boards (3 components together), please use the existing version of V1.01.
