2.Symptom:
In rare cases, the message “Mount the transfer belt unit.” does not disappear.
This incomplete insertion of the transfer belt unit is caused by a deformed waste toner box unit.
The deformation results from a high contact pressure of the belt CL roller (NROLR1392FCZZ)
supported by the waste toner box unit. The belt CL roller is mounted in the transfer belt unit.

3.Description:
We have added a waste toner case reinforcement plate to the waste toner box unit so that the
deformation of the waste toner box unit is alleviated to provide the correct location of the
transfer belt unit.
Along with the addition of the waste toner case reinforce plate, we have also changed the
shape of the belt CL lever and the length of the belt CL roller spring. To distinguish between the
consumables AR-C26HB (waste toner box unit) and AR-C26TU (transfer belt unit) before
change and those after change as follows: The waste toner box unit and transfer belt unit
where “AA” is written to the right of the lot number are new ones (after change).
For the differences between the items bundled with AR-C26HB before change and those
bundled with AR-C26HB after change, see the accompanying sheet.
In addition, we have changed the parts codes of waste toner box unit and transfer belt unit
supplied as service parts. (See the parts change list.)

Replace the waste toner box unit according to the interchangeability table shown below.

Note 1) Forgetting to remove the waste toner case reinforce plate may cause a paper jam (jam resulting
from transfer belt slip). Be sure to remove the waste toner case reinforce plate.
Note 2) The pawl of the belt CL lever after change has been abolished, so the lever is not caught in the
belt housing. However, there is no problem with this. Mount a new-type waste toner box unit on
the transfer belt unit as is. (See the figures below.)

Procedure for mounting the waste toner case reinforce plate
Note) Mount the waste toner case reinforce plate on the transfer belt unit in the following procedure:
Some of the transfer belt units manufactured before and in December 2003 don’t have the screw
hole shown in Step 1. In such a case, skip Step 1 and mount the waste toner case reinforce plate in
the order of Steps 2 and 3.

1. Temporarily fasten the waste toner case reinforce plate to the frame of the transfer belt unit with the
screw M3x6 (XHBS730P06000).
2. Align the transfer belt unit with the waste toner case reinforce plate as shown in the figure below and
secure them with the screw M3x10 (XEBS730P10000).
3. Tighten the screw M3x6 (XHBS730P06000) more firmly and then fasten the waste toner case reinforce
plate to the place shown below with the M3x6 (XHBS730P06000).
