Flash upgrades may be required at the following times:

1)  In order to improve the performance
2)  When installing a new spare Flash ROM to the machine for repair
3)  When the program in the Flash ROM has been corrupted

There are Three methods of upgrading the firmware on the AR-C260 copier:-

a)
Removing the flash cards from the AR-C260 and upgrading them on the Tiger
series machines by using “FCOPY”.

b)
By connecting a computer to the ICU PWB, the program data of the Flash Rom
Is written from the computer to the Flash ROM by utilising a Level Converter.

c)
The two flash ROM sockets on the ICU Main PWB can be used to copy the
program (Source ROM) to another Flash ROM. In this method, the Source ROM
can be created by downloading the “SRC” program file to a “2 x 32Mbit” flashcard,
utilising the Level Converter.

Engine Procedure (Level Converter)

1.
Power off the copier and remove the paper tray cabinet & shield plate.

2.
