When full scanning operations were carried out in the copy lamp unit of model AR405,
there was a possibility of obstruction caused by the fixing screws which secured the
glass retainer right. As a measure to alleviate this problem a change was carried out in
the fixing screws, and the 4 ´ 6 screws were changed to 4 ´ 4 screws. This action has
also been carried out on the models listed above. In addition, the same change has also
been carried out in the fixing screws which secure the glass retainer left.
This action has been carried out as a measure to establish uniformity in the
manufacturing process operations.

3.Action:

From the 1st lot of 1999 January production.

2. Change in the materials used for the locking release lever carried out as a

measure to alleviate problems of deformation caused by heat.

A change has been carried out in the materials used for the locking release

lever. The ABS which was previously used for the lever has been changed to PC/ABS.
This action has been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of deformation
caused by increases in heat.

A change has been carried out in the groove for the E-ring for the paper delivery

roller lower A of the 2-bin paper delivery reversion unit. The pitch of the E-ring groove
has been made narrower. This action has been carried out as a measure to alleviate
problems of looseness of the paper delivery roller lower A.
