2. Defect Symptom
Occasional scatter of Developer in the machine.
3. Cause of occurrence
It is possible that the space between drum and transfer roller has widened due to one of
the following factors :
1. If excessive force is applied to the right door when removing the jammed paper, the
rail reinforcement plate is deformed so that the right door is not closed securely.
2. Poor contact of the TR electrode plate in the TC unit.
4. Description
The following countermeasure changes are performed to avoid defect occurrence.
(1) The thickness of the rail reinforcement plate is changed (1.0
!1.6mm), and a screw

 10) is added.
(2) The length of the high voltage SP-A and high voltage SP-B is changed (17
!20 mm).
(3) The shape of the TR electrode plate in the transfer unit is changed.

(Identification of the old and new TR electrode plates)
[TR electrode plate replacement procedure]
   1. Detach the reinforcement plate from the transfer unit. (3 screws. One of them is tightened
       with the earth terminal.)
   2. Remove the transfer roller ass'y.
       Release the hooks on the front/rear frame side (2 pieces each at back and front) using a
       slotted screwdriver, etc. to detach the transfer roller ass'y.

3. Replace the TR electrode plate.
       - Disengage the old TR electrode plate from the positioning projection, and slide it in the
          direction of the arrow (A) to pull it out.
       - Insert the new TR electrode plate from the portion shown by the arrow (B), and mount it
          to the transfer unit in the reverse order from the disassembly.
