Information of parts change
1. Description
The program is not installed into the Flash ROM provided as a service part, and the
machine malfunctions if replaced to it in the market. Therefore, a program-installed
Flash ROM is newly provided as a service part.

2 Flash ROMs are mounted on the MCU PWB; they are made by
manufacturers.
When replacing the above Flash ROMs in the market, there are 2
replacement methods depending on the Flash ROM manufacturer.

them
following
the
procedures
below.
1) When the Flash ROMs (IC7, IC38) to be replaced are made by

Remove the chip resistors R47 and R48 when replacing IC7, or remove the chip
resistors R217 and R329 when replacing IC38.
(It corresponds to the MCU PWB code CPWBX0163QS3* or CPWBX0163QS4*.)
(For the resistors which must be removed, refer to the figure below.)

[Purpose of replacing the resistor]
This work is performed in order not to supply the Flash ROM with excessive voltage. If
the resistors are not removed, the machine operates, but the Flash ROM life may
shorten.
Therefore, when replacing the Flash ROM, be sure to remove the above resistors.
2) When the Flash ROMs (IC7, IC38) to be replaced are made by SPANSION
The above work is not required. Replace the Flash ROM only.
(It corresponds to the MCU PWB code CPWBX0163QS1* or CPWBX0163QS2*.)
