Automatic EOD Backup

1.

Select VPM – Configure – System Configuration – Backup.

2.

Select ‘Backup type’.

• 

None – This will disable the EOD backup

• 

• 

Full (with tran history) – This will enable the EOD backup including Transaction
history.  Depending on the amount of transaction history files the backup could take
longer.

3.

Enter the full path of the zip file for the backup including the .zip extension
Note if %s is added to the end of the path the file name will be replaced with the date
date time, YYYYMMDDHHMM of the backup so that multiple backups can be create

Scheduled Task Backup

It is possible to take a backup at anytime by running a batch file or via a Windows scheduled task

1.

To perform a backup via a windows scheduled task or containing transaction history data
create batch file eg. VSBackup.bat containing the following line.

echo DOBACKUP c:\VentaBackup%%s.ZIP  >C:\Vapp\DATA\REMIN\VTBackup001.TXT

echo DOBACKUPQ c:\VentaBackup%%s.ZIP  >C:\Vapp\DATA\REMIN\VTBackup001.TXT

Note: The 

%%S

 will date and time stamp the backup file name.

3. 

Select Start – All Programs – Accessories – System Tools – Scheduled Tasks – Add
Scheduled task.

4. 

Select Next and then Browse to the location of the VSBackup.bat file.

5. 

Choose whether the task is to be Daily/Weekly etc and also the time the task is to be
performed (not during buy period) eg 04.00am
