Auto Application Version Update
(Terminalfile.txt)
(Pre installed on version 1.6.0.16)
It is possible with the inclusion of a TerminalFile.txt installed on the Master POS for
all connected X300 terminals on the network to have their application version
automatically updated from the Server POS.
If the Clients or Backup Server do not have a terminalfile.txt or have a
terminalfile.txt of a previous version they will be automatically updated at the next
time of re-boot to the version contained in the Master.
Operation: Perform an X300 install containing terminalfile.txt on the Master terminal
after successful install re-boot the Backup Server and Clients.
Location of the Terminalfile.txt at the POS is:
\Hard Disk 2\X300\TerminalFile.txt
After installation of the new application software to the client/backup server the new
Terminalfile.txt is saved onto HD2 and the terminal must be rebooted.
Terminalfile.txt - FAQ’s
Q. Do we have to have the TerminalFile.txt installed on the Clients or Backup
server?
A. No.
Q. What are the benefits of this new feature.
A. On a network system where the Server contains the TerminalFile.txt upgrading
the application through the USB is only necessary on the Server, Clients and Backup
Server will receive the updates automatically at next re-boot
