6.3. Key Top Descriptions
In this section, most of the Function Keys will be covered. There will be a brief
description of some of the key tops this will hopefully give you an idea of the
functionality of the machine.
Del Used in PGM mode to delete settings
Diff Subtotal can be used for tray totals for example the receipt will show a
subtotal for a block of items entered so far and then a complete total at the end of
the transaction.
Non Add code Used to input a numeric code for printout as a reference
NS  No sale, used to open the drawer without carrying a transaction
Scale Entry as the UP600/700 as a scale option this key is used for a manual entry
of a weighted item
Open Tare is also used in conjunction with the scale function the tare being the
weight of the package of the weighted article
G.C. Copy key is used to produce a pro forma invoice or an estimate type of bill, for
example if this key is pressed the items entered after it will not be put into the
machines memory but will appear on a receipt.
VP Validation Print, used to perform a print out onto a cheque (or paper) when
connected to an external slip printer
Refund and Return keys. The difference between these keys is the way in which
their totalizers are treated, for example if an item is refunded the PLU and
department sales are incremented and the stock is deducted.
Therefore if an item is sold then refunded the sales will be zero and the stock will be
zero.
However the return key will not increment the PLU or department sales and will not
deduct from stock.
Therefore, if an item is sold then returned the sales will be one and the stock will be
minus one.
The return key will also effect the Order Paid figure, as the item will appear as
Ordered but not paid for.
Final Key. This key is the same as the New Balance key in operation.
However the FINAL key will calculate the Tax, the NEW BALANCE does not. The
FINAL key does NOT finalise the transaction. When you use the FINAL key in place
of the NEW BALANCE, you will notice a large bold print indicating the Total amount.
