UP-V5500

The  UP-V5500  runs  the  latest  POSReady 
2009  Operating  System  and  features  an 
Intel® Atom™ processor which offers good 
performance, whilst being energy efficient.
The  integrated  Intel  945G  graphics  media 
accelerator  results  in  a  good  on-screen 
graphics  performance,  which  allows  for 
excellent screen overlay and is also extremely 
easy to use. The Sharp POS software utilises an 
industry standard SQL database management 
platform,  which  allows  for  quick  data 
processing  whilst  providing  accurate  results 
every time.

With  a  design  based  on  the  popular  and 
well established UPX500 platform, the large 
15” colour screen sits on a small and compact 
chassis,  which  makes  it  ideal  for  even  the 
most space challenged of environments.

Wireless printing
To  minimise  the  amount  of  LAN  cabling  on-site  the  Sharp  POS  software 
supports  wireless  IP  base  printing  with  a  compatible  printer  such  as  the 
Epson TM-P60.

Each  item  can  be  given  up  to  40  characters  of  text  so  that  product 
descriptions can be as accurate as possible for precise customer information 
and to help minimise mistakes.

The  ‘stock’  countdown  feature  enables  any  hospitality  user  to  only  sell 
the portions or stock that is available thus giving more accurate customer 
service and better stock control.

There  is  a  useful  product  information 
function to help improve staff knowledge. 
Product  images  and  text  can  be  displayed 
to  help  with  staff  training.  This  allows 
complicated cocktail recipes or wine tasting 
notes to be displayed easily. Dishes can also 
be  set  up  with  ingredients  listed,  which  is 
useful  for  identifying  suitable  dishes  for 
allergy sufferers. For further ease of use it 
is possible to print the product information 
text on a receipt to give to a customer or for 
easy staff reference.

To provide faster customer service and to minimise mistakes, bitmap images 
can be displayed on keys in lieu of standard key text.

To  minimise  mistakes  with  food  preparation  and  give  more  accurate 
customer  service,  Chinese  characters  can  be  set-up  so  that  when  the 
order  goes  to  the  kitchen  printer,  Chinese  characters  are  displayed  to 
aid kitchen staff. This is useful for restaurants which employ staff where 
English isn’t their first language. This feature is easy and straightforward 
to set-up and maintain.

Special kitchen instructions
For kitchen orders which have special instructions, a large easy to use pop-up QWERTY keyboard allows for free text 
to be entered. This feature helps avoid any potentially costly errors.

Time and attendance
This feature enables you to keep track of staff working and break times, a time and attendance function means that 
employee working times can be easily monitored.

With a visual list based user-interface, price changes can be performed methodically from the POS terminal to help you 
act quickly when prices need to be increased or decreased. You can also control your promotional pricing and happy 
hours easily through the on-screen menus.

Use of magnetic card reader
The optional magnetic card reader can be used for a number of time saving operations or to improve security. For example, 
for supervisor or manager authority functions; to save time when opening tables; for server log on or for customer loyalty.

To enable you to monitor the spending of each table, there is a useful feature whereby it is possible to set a spending limit 
on each table. This can be particularly useful for private parties and functions.
