Contact less Clerk Keys
We are pleased to inform you of the release of a new type of Clerk lock and key system.
The new Clerk lock and Key is a contact less type. (The signal is sent by RF, but the
magnet in the lock holds the key in position as the signal can be sent only over very
short distance)
The main advantage of this type of system is the reliability is greatly improved, as there
is no wear on the key or lock upon insertion and removal.
Key Lock Body (Sales Item) - UPR01CK
Pack of 10 Contact Less Keys (Sales Item)- UPR10CL
ER-A771 and New UP-3301
The lock body is fitted standard to all ER-A771 machines and to the NEW UP-3301
(July production)
The Keys used on all models can be obtained by ordering sales item UPR10CL this kit
consists of 10 blank keys. (These keys can be assigned as any 4-digit number)
ER-A771/UP-3301 Contact less key programming.
1.  Turn the key to "Service Position".
2.  Setting (16): - Contact less key.
3.  The message (Contact less Key Set Key) (Define).
4.  Connect the key to the barrel.
5.  Enter the Clerk code to be programmed onto the key.
6.  Repeat steps 4 and 5 for further keys

The lock body that can be fitted to work with the machines listed above can be obtained
by ordering the option kit UPR01CK from Sharp (UK) Sales.
The UPR01CK kit contains all the necessary items (other than the keys) for the lock to
be fitted and operate on the above machines.
(Lock Body, Cable (between body and PWB) and Fitting accessories.)
(Available November 2003)
Fitting Instructions
The lock is fitted to the machines in a similar way as the current clerk locks are fitted.
Simply remove the existing body and replace it with the new type.
There is piece of cable that fits between the new Contact less Clerk body to the PWB.
The position of the PWB connector that the above cable fits onto varies from machine to
machine, however there is only 1 connector of this size (12 pin Brown/Orange
connector) on the machine.
Programming the Keys ready for operation.
(ER-A770/UP-600/700/3300/5300/5350/5700 & UP-5900)
To program the keys to be read by the Clerk body on the above machines please follow
instructions below.
1.  When the Clerk body is first fitted it does not contain any programmed data.
2.  If there is Key data in the body (previously used) the data in the body can be reset
by changing the position of SW1. (please refer to Initializing the Clerk lock)
3.  To program the key number simply press the key into position.
4.  The first key pressed against the Clerk body will be registered as key number 1, the
next key as key number 2 and so on.
5.  Any new key fitted will be automatically programmed as the next highest number

Initialising the Clerk Lock
1.  Power off the machine
2.  Open the cabinet of the machine to gain access to the Clerk body.
3.  Switch SW1 on the contact less clerk body from H to L
4.  Wait for 10 seconds
5.  Power the machine back on “Undefined Code” should appear
6.  Switch SW1 back to H
7.  Assign keys sequentially.
Reprogramming a lost or broken  key (retro fitted machines)
If a key is broken or lost and a replacement is required to have the same key number
then this can only be achieved by the following method.
1.  Initializing the Clerk Lock.
2.  Reprogram ALL keys sequentially
