Guide
The following list is intended to guide the dealer through a typical
installation
Please use the UP600/700 Training Manual (can be found on our WEB
site) to carry out some of the procedures in this guide.
Hardware Checks
q 
Perform Memory Diagnostics on standard RAM and on the Option Memory
board if fitted.
(Will cause department text instead of PLU text to appear  & other symptoms
if faulty or fitted incorrectly)
q 
Perform Network Diagnostics, if network is configured.
(Poor network board connection will cause network error)
q 
Read ROM Version (To take read go to PGM/READING/ROM VERSION)
q 
Upgrade Main Board ROM to the latest version using the
POSUtilitytool.exe (See WEB site)
q 
Check Main PWB ROM Version and confirm all relevant SSP’s are
installed (this list may be updated)
q 
SSP001 (Required for Version A Main ROMS only)
q 
SSP002 (Required for Version A Main ROMS only )
q 
SSP004 (Required for version B Main ROMS (without SSP can cause
machine to lock out)
q 
SSP005 (Required for version A&B Main ROMS (without SSP can
cause machine to lock out after moving Mode switch)
q 
Take Network PWB ROM Version and if necessary upgrade (please refer
to Technical Update on WEB.)
File and Service parameter checks.
q 
Check Job Code 910-A if this is set for Overlap, make sure file 152 is
created. (if not various faults, including sales data not updating can occur)
q 
After carrying out changes to the Clerk/Overlap feature, please re-
introduce the IRC (This will create necessary files)
q 
Check file report Master must have file 30
(Sales figures will not be transferred from satellite machine if file is not created
to create this file re introduce the PLU price file)
q 
Check that the Master has T-Log Receive Buffer file (147) and Satellite
has T-Log Buffer (146)
Common UK Settings
(This is only a guide to the service parameters that are commonly set on UK
installations, you may want to add or ignore some of these)
q 
Set job code 906-C=0 (This  prevents accidental entry of large quantities)
q 
Set job code 909-D=6
(This will allow Overlap to work and also will automatically sign off pre-set
Clerk after the transaction.)
q 
Set job code 911-D=2
(This will print consecutive number on the KP and Receipt)
q 
Set job code 912-C=6
(This will allow copy receipts)
q 
Set job code 914-A=0
(Separates the NS key from the TL key)
q 
916-B=4
(To allow Refund and other with Negative amount to be cashed off through
Credit)
q 
918-B=2
(This will print zero priced items to be printed in red on KP)
q 
919-B=4
(This will allow any Clerk to access any GLU also when displaying Open
Tales will display all Open Tables on the system)
q 
920-C=1
(To allow all machines to be automatic updated when any machine has had
PLU/EAN changes)
q 
Set job code 925-D=1
(This is to prevent the operator having to perform Open and Close store
operation)
q 
Create Auto key for Intermediate Bill Print feature.
(Auto Key = Misc. Func,2,Enter,ST this will display all open Tables)
Common set up with Scanning
q 
Disable the learning feature for EANs
q 
Set the Look Up order to Slave
