3.2 Power
To turn the power on or off use the power button on the left upper side of the ORDERMAN
®
hand-held.

3.3 Start-Up Screen
After getting your ORDERMAN
®
hand-held started, the Start-
Up Screen is displayed.
It contains information like the connection status to the

OMB2 and the ORDERMAN

DSP-Module.
If the communication between hand-held and OMB2 is
established, the Main Menu is displayed.
The displayed screen may differ in version and date from that
one displayed in the ORDERSOLUTION.
3.3.1
Reasons why the ORDERMAN
®
hand-held stops at the Start-Up Screen
• The OMB2 is switched OFF. => Check the power supply and connection to the ECR.
• The OMB2 has no DSP-Module fitted. => See ORDERSOLUTION Installation
• The OMB2 has no DSP-Module fitted. => See ORDERSOLUTION Installation
Manual.
• The OMB2 is not ready. => The boot sequence has not finished yet.
The power ON delay of the OMB2 is active. During power ON the OMB2 is in the

Network Mode for 12-20 seconds, depending on random time-out
generation during the start-up and activating of the RF-module. This mode is required
to connect the OMB2 to the OMAN.EXE (OMB2 attempts to connect with
OMAN.EXE program during this 20 seconds).

• The hand-held is not in the OMB2 RF-Range. => See Offline mode

Offline mode
Offline mode means that you are out of the OMB2 RF-Range.
In the Offline mode you can order items but orders are not transmitted to the ECR.
As soon as the connection is established, the data transfer will start.
