REASON
How to install new flash software.
ACTION
Carry out the following procedure to update the Flash Software:
Writing Software
1. Download the Flash Upgrade software from the Sharp Technical Web site and
rename it as VADDISV.img
2. Write this file to the root directory of a CD-R. Note that the file system is ISO-9660,
CD Physical format is Mode 1 and the disc is written at once.
3. Turn the power off by pressing the Operate button (On/Standby button). If a Disc is
in the tray, it must be taken out before the upgrade is made.
4. Press the Operate button to turn the power on.
5. Press the DVD/VCR button to change to DVD mode.

The
DVD indicator lights up.
6. Press the Open/Close button to open the tray.
7. Place the update CD-R onto the tray.
8. Press the Open/Close button to close the tray. Disc reading is started.
9. At an end of reading, the display at the upper right of a TV screen changes to

9. At an end of reading, the display at the upper right of a TV screen changes to
“SDRAM Writing”.
10. About 10 seconds later, the display at the upper right of the TV screen changes to
“FLASH Writing”, and the tray opens.
Remove the
CD-R. DO NOT press any other
button on the unit
11. About 4-5 minutes later, the tray closes and the display changes to “Please
Reboot”.
12. Press the Operate button to turn power off.

Confirm Version
1. Turn the power on by pressing Operate button.
2. Press the DVD/VCR button to change to DVD mode.

The
DVD indicator (LED)

3. Press and hold both CH- button and DVD/VCR button. The TV screen to confirm
the firmware version is displayed.
4. The version code of the firmware begins from "RPF."
Note
When the unit is plugged in after carrying out the update, auto tuning will start. Pressing the
Setup button on the remote control will stop auto tuning.
