Is the power lead connected properly?

unplug the player from the power outlet briefly and then plug it in
again.
Have you loaded a disc?
Is the disc unplayable? (See pages 5 – 8.)
Is there condensation in the player? (See page 4.)
Are the video and audio leads connected correctly? (See pages
10, 13 – 15.)
Is the disc scratched? (See pages 7 and 57.)
Is the disc dirty? (See pages 7 and 57.)
Is the disc loaded upside down?
Is the input selector on the TV set to “VIDEO” or “AV”?
Is the audio equipment switched on and are all the components
connected properly? (Refer to the manuals for your audio equipment.)
Are the batteries loaded correctly?
Are the batteries flat?
Is the signal emitter on the remote control pointing at the player?
Is the remote control too far from the player, or is there any
obstacle between the remote control and the player?
In SET UP, is the SPEAKER setting set to “2ch/DIGITAL”?
Is the disc you are playing recorded in Dolby Digital?
In SET UP, is the speaker output set to “5ch” or “5.1ch”? (See page 20.)

select Dolby Digital sound? (See page 49.)

Are vibrations from the speakers affecting the player?
Certain functions are prohibited on some DVD discs.
Refer to the information in the disc jacket for details.
This unit is equipped with a microprocessor. Its performance could be adversely affected by external electrical
noise or interference. If this should happen, unplug the DVD player and plug it in again after a few minutes.
When the player is connected to an amplifier with a 5ch or 5.1ch input connector, the volume of the Dolby
Surround sound is lower than that of the Dolby Digital (5ch or 5.1ch) sound. Adjust the volume on the amplifier.
